2014 was yet another challenging year for SYPD. The complex humanitarian emergency continued to exist throughout this year’s which have compelled SYPD to respond despite limited resources and massive local needs. The humanitarian community’s ability to respond quickly and efficiently was restricted on several other fronts by outbreaks and escalation of conflicts and natural disasters in Syria, Philippines, Central Africa Republic and Mali with limited resources made available for Somalia.
