Building Climate-Resilient Communities Across Somalia

Sustainable Development & Peace Building Initiatives (SYPD) empowers communities through education, economic opportunity, and humanitarian action—creating lasting solutions to poverty, conflict, and climate challenges.

From Crisis Response to Long-Term Change

For over two decades, SYPD has delivered life-saving aid while building sustainable futures—through education, youth empowerment, peacebuilding, and climate resilience programs across Somalia and beyond.

Our Background

20 Years of Dedicated Humanitarian Work

SYPD was established on August 24th, 2004, to initiate homegrown, organic solutions to the conflict in Somalia. We bridge the gap between emergency relief and long-term development.
We operate in South West, Jubbaland, Hirshabelle, and Galmudug to strengthen Somali communities against social and economic barriers.
